How to Attend Bi-Weekly Federal Funds Calls:
Go to the Federal Investments Resources page and click “Federal Funds Update Call”.
Add the entire series to your calendar by clicking the button labeled “Add the Federal Funds Update to My Calendar”. Clicking this button will download an iCalendar file to your computer.
Open the file in your preferred email/calendar application and select “Save & Close”. The meeting series should now appear on your calendar.
To join the meeting directly from our website, click the button labeled “Join the Meeting” in the same section of the Federal Investments Resources page. This is a great option if you have trouble finding the Teams link in your email or calendar.

The Federal Funds Implementation Team (FFIT) is situated within the Minnesota Department of Management and Budget (MMB) and is monitoring changes in the federal landscape that impact funding in our state. Register for bi-weekly updates offered by FFIT.

The disruptions tracker contains information on temporarily disrupted and permanently cancelled federal grants at Minnesota state agencies. The disruptions and cancellations are funds that flow through state government entities and do not reflect the totality of disrupted funds across Minnesota. The 3 tracking documents are updated every weekday and are intended for informational use. As of June 17, 2025, FFIT's state tracker reports:
Permanent Cancellations: $37,529,742
Temporary Disruptions: $25,368,297
Court Impacted Decisions: $260,279,429

Looking for a Renewable Energy Site? Explore Your Options with EPA's RE-Powering Mapper

Updated: April 23, 2025

With over 190,000 pre-screened sites, the EPA’s RE-Powering Mapper is a powerful interactive tool designed to help users identify contaminated lands, landfills, and mine sites suitable for renewable energy development.
The Mapper provides insights into potential locations for solar, wind, biomass, and geothermal energy projects.
Users can filter data based on key attributes such as acreage, renewable energy capacity, site proximity to substations, and it can even generate site-specific renewable energy reports.
The RE-Powering Mapper is incredibly user-friendly. If you're looking to maximize this tool's potential, the EPA offers step-by-step tutorials on its website.
If you want guidance on how to get started, reach out to a Technical Assistance for Brownfields (TAB) team member for expert support. Kansas State University's TAB offers pro bono brownfields technical assistance for local governments, nonprofits, businesses, and Tribes.

The Impact Project Map

Released: March 31, 2025

The Impact Project provides objective, transparent, and open-source data to help explain how federal policies, funding, and workforce changes affect communities across the country.

The project's first tool, the Impact Map, shows the local impact of federal workforce, funding, and policy decisions. Given the limited availability of reliable data, the Impact Map will evolve as new data becomes available. You're also invited to submit stories or news articles to be added to the map.

Submit Your Project to the Midwest Climate & Clean Energy Project Database!

In partnership with philanthropic partners, the MN TA Collab and the Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs) have launched a Midwest Climate & Clean Energy Database to map projects across the Midwest, starting in Minnesota. We invite climate and clean energy projects of all budget sizes and stages. This database will help inform the early planning stages of a possible Midwest Revolving Loan Fund.

By submitting your project, communities may also be matched to potential technical assistance, funding, and resources. (Note: This form does not autosave).
